Stars - Sun Earth and Moon - Test 1 Review

Attached are a variety of review materials. I have included 4 files. Plan to spend about 45 concentrated minutes working with each of the files. Some of the questions on the test will come directly from these review materials.

Associated with each file are answers to the questions found in the file. Answer the questions and then check your answers. I don't plan to take up the answers in class.

Two of the files include short answer questions that ask you to make connections and apply your learning. The answers to these questions may further your understanding of the concepts we investigated in this unit.

On Monday I will return your star spectra gizmo assignment.
The test will include material from the Gizmos. Review the assessment questions associated with each Gizmo. I will also give a brief clicker quiz on Monday. Please be prepared.

Today you will be introduce to a simulation that will allow you to analyze the spectra of a variety of stars. Determine the elements that are represented in each spectrum, and use this information to infer the temperature and classification of the star. You will look for unusual features such as redshifted stars, nebulae, and stars with large planets.
